Pombia and his territory:       

The historical centre of Pombia, situated in a one of the first area to be habitated, has most of the more rich archaeological sites of the past. Perhaps there was a Gallic castle at the beginning, then a “castrum” of the Roman Empire, later a Frankish castle, finally it was the residence of the Earls of Pombia and Biandrate. Positioned on the hills dominating the Ticino’s Valley is set up on two different nucleus of the same village connected by a bridge.

For his nature, Pombia, whose territory is included on the Regional Park of the Ticino’s Valley, is an international attraction, rewarded by UNESCO with the prestigious award MAB-Wildlife Sanctuary of the Biosphere, with about a thousand peoples visiting every year his territories.

Moreover on the territory of the municipality of Pombia, around the SS.32 del Sempione, is situated from the year 1975 the tourist attraction of the Safari Park.

Located only 15^th. Km from Lake Maggiore, dominated from the wonderful massif of Monte Rosa, at only 15^th. Km. from the Malpensa international airport, Pombia is connected to the surrounding, to the sea side,  and trough the mountain pass of the Alps to Switzerland and France, by multiples motorways (Milano-Laghi) (Milano_Torino) (Milano-Genova)(Autostrada dei Trafori), national roads and provincial roads, as well by the railways that connecting them with Novara, Arona, Milano, and, moreover to the downtown of Milan and the new site of the International Fair and the future Universal Exposition, through Malpensa, in less then one hour, with the Malpensa Express.
